Terms of service (beta)
Version: beta, 30 October 2026. These terms are written in plain language for the beta. They will be reviewed by counsel before any paid plan is offered.
Who we are and who may use Artefactor
Artefactor is run by Hidden Value AB (org. no. 559580-9608), Sävedalen, Sweden ("we", "us").
These terms apply to everyone who uses Artefactor at app.artefactor.cloud ("the service").
You may use the service if your organisation has an account with us, or if someone shares an artefact with you. The person who sets up an organisation (its owner) accepts these terms on the organisation's behalf, confirms they may do so, and is responsible for how the organisation's members use the service.
Beta and price
The service is in beta. It is free for beta organisations for as long as the beta lasts.
Before anything paid applies to your organisation, we tell its owners by email at least 60 days ahead. You can then leave, and export your data first, before any charge applies.
Paid plans
Paid plans are sold by our reseller, Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), which is the Merchant of Record for every purchase. You buy the plan from Paddle, and Paddle's buyer terms govern the purchase, payment, invoicing and taxes. These terms keep governing your use of the service. The rules below apply only once paid plans are offered, which we tell organisation owners by email at least 60 days ahead.
- Renewal. Plans renew monthly until cancelled. Each plan's allowance resets at the start of each billing period.
- Over the allowance. When your organisation reaches its plan's allowance, it can't create new artefacts or move artefacts in until the plan renews or you upgrade. Nothing already made is affected: existing artefacts, their data and their links keep working.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period, and the plan stays active until then.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled through Paddle. If you buy as a consumer, you keep your statutory right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to host, share or send:
- anything illegal, or anything that helps someone break the law;
- malware, or code meant to harm, track or take over the devices of people who open it;
- phishing, or any page that pretends to be someone else to collect passwords, payment details or other personal data;
- content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- content that harasses, threatens or abuses other users, or that tries to get around the service's limits or security.
Artefacts are HTML pages that we serve as they are, without changing or checking them. The person who uploads an artefact answers for what it contains and what it does when someone opens it.
If content breaks these rules, we may archive or remove it, and suspend the accounts or the organisation involved. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it; where the harm is serious or urgent, we act first and tell you afterwards.
Your content stays yours
You keep every right you have in the artefacts, data and comments you put into the service. You give us only the licence we need to run the service for you: to store, host, serve, back up and make thumbnails of your content, and to show it to the people you share it with. That licence ends when your content is deleted.
Data protection
Our privacy notice explains what personal data we process, why, and who helps us. For the personal data your organisation puts into the service, we act as your processor; a data processing agreement (DPA) is available on request at the contact address below.
No service level during the beta
The service is provided as is. We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we make no commitment on uptime, response times or support during the beta.
Our liability to you is limited to the fees paid for your organisation's plan, to us or to our reseller Paddle, in the twelve months before the claim — which is nothing during the free beta — except where the law does not allow such a limit (for example for gross negligence or intent).
Ending the service
You may stop using the service at any time, and so may we, by telling the other side. When an organisation leaves, we delete its data within 30 days. Copies in our backups disappear as the backups age out on their normal schedule (see the privacy notice).
Changes to these terms
We announce changes to these terms to organisation owners by email 30 days before they apply. If you don't accept a change, you can leave before it applies.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes go to Göteborg tingsrätt (Gothenburg District Court) as the first instance.
